my bad luck streak that is.

Hey y'all

I'm really starting to think I was a mass murderer in a former life as Karma really seems to have it out for me in this one. Some of you know about the health problems I've been dealing with the last 6 months, the constant the ups and downs, the three spider bites I got over the summer...... and now to top it all off. Friday (Nov 6th) I fractured my left hand But you should see the other guy Nah, seriously it was just me being klutzy again. I have hairline fractures in two of the metacarples (I think I spelled that right lol) The swelling has gone down, but my hand is every color under the sun and then some.

And I'm SOOOO bored. I can't do any of the things I normally like to do. Play the Wii, sew, prop making, draw, cook....nothing

But there is some good going on right now.....well sorta lol I moved my only surviving kitten into the house. I call her un-Lucky...Lucky for surviving the dogs. un- for getting pinned between a board and a doorfacing and having to have her leg glued back together (you could see the bone). I haven't had a cat in the house for a long time, so I'm having to get used to it again. I really had forgotten how much fun it is and annoying at times lol She sleeps with me at night (on my pillow, of all places lol) and every time I sit at the pc, she hops in my lap and takes a nap

Hey y'all.

Why is it whenever a female walks into "a large hardware store" (I don't wanna name names.....) every male worker in the place asks if they can help her find what she needs? And if she says no, it doesn't stop there.... They either act as if she has no business in there or that her 'man' has sent her to pick things up for him and she's trying to pretend that she knows what she's after. This annoys me to no end.

yep, you guessed it, Last week I went to one of these large hardware stores for some DIY. I knew what I wanted when I went in there, but I also knew it'd take some time finding exactly what I needed.....I tend to get distracted by the power tools Time I stepped in the door, someone asked if could he help me...."No, thank you." I headed straight for the drill-bits/saw-blades. "Can I help you find something?" "No, thank you" I found what I needed, then headed to look at all the cool toys. "Can I help you?" "No, thank you. I'm just looking." Didn't wanna tell him I couldn't afford anything new, I just wanted to look

After having him circle the section I was in, like a buzzard for about 15 mins, I got annoyed and went to find some pvc fittings and pipe. I get to the pipe and much to my relief, no salesmen! So I went to work finding exactly what I needed, making sure they'd fit together like I wanted. I was looking for my last piece (a section of pvc pipe that my couplings would fit into) and here he came, the most annoying salesman I've ever had the pleasure of meeting "Can I help you find something?" "No,thank you" "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm sure" "Well, if you decide you need some help, let me know." "OK"

Instead of leaving, he just stands there and watches me. I try to ignore him, but he's just standing there watching me......not even pretending to be doing anything else, just watching me.....and it's bugging me to no end

I finally find a piece of pipe the size I wanted (hiding behind all the others). I take it down and slide the couplings into it just to double check that it would work. It fit. But at the same time Mr Annoyance says "NO, NO that won't work." "Yeah, it will." "No it won't ever work. You need the hot water pipe to go with those fittings. The off white is hot water pipe, the white is cold water pipe. So what you're doing there, mixing them, will never work." "Uh, yeah, it will work, doesn't matter what colour it is, as long as it will fit together it'll work, esp since I'm not gonna be running water thru it." "Well, What do you need it for then?" "I'm making a Tranquilizer gun. " For some strange reason, he looked at me funny and walked off looking a bit annoyed Not my fault he didn't ask what I needed the pipe for, before telling me it wouldn't work

And for those interested....... a 7/8 in(yellow tipped) dowel rod fits perfectly inside a hot water (off-white) 3/4 in coupling/cap and the 3/4 coupling fits almost perfectly inside a 1 in coupling which fits almost perfectly inside 1 1/4 in cold water thin-walled pipe...a little pipe glue and they work like a dream

Costume Projects Update

Not much going on on that front right now. I did manage to re-make my Anniversary Gunrig and I've made the Ripped dress from Legend Tokyo level. I'm hoping to start on the gunrig for that soon. I'm working on a coat inspired by Anna's from Van Helsing. I've been working on Sonja's armour from Rise of the Lycans, but that's mostly on hold right now due to some health issues. No, the project didn't cause health problems...except for some stress lol, I just put all large projects on hold until I'm feeling better.

Prop Projects Update

Not much new to report here either. I finished Thor's Gauntlets from TR:UW a while back. I'll try to load a pic in scraps later. As mentioned above I'm working on the Tranquilizer gun from TR:UW as well as Thor's Hammer And I've also been working on some papercraft projects...more about those later
